About 200 new children with different types of cancer are registered every year. On an average 2000 In-patients and 9000 Out-patients are treated per year. The number of cancer children who are treated in this department has trebled in the past 10 years from 75 case in 1987 to 212 cases in the year 1999.

If we have large amount of money in the core fund which can be kept in a fixed deposit the interest can be utilised for purchase of costly drugs and other essential items for treating these suffering children. The above fund also has 100% income tax exemption under section 80G(2)(iiihb) of the Incometax Act 1961. The department welcomes contributions for this noble cause from all over the country and abroad. Children are looking forward to your help.

Donations can be sent in the form of Check or Draft, drawn in favor of "Cancer Children Fund" A/c. SB/ C&I, 311, State Bank of India, Egmore branch, 45, Pantheon Road, Chennai (Madras)-600008, India, to the Director of Institute Of Child Health and Hospital For Children at Halls Road, Egmore, Chennai (Madras) 600008, by registered post. Kindly mention the correct postal address with pincode for us to send the receipt promptly.
